As predicted, conditions were very light which isn’t good for a skipper carrying my weight – it slows your boat considerably! The results for the day reflect this with a 30, 28 and 27th which doesn’t show just how close the places are apart. The racing is so tight that I would guess the time difference between 5th place and 30th might be less than 2 minutes.
Anyway, I gave it my absolute best in each of the 12 races and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of competing in the Worlds. Feedback from internationals was nothing but positive for RQYS, the volunteers and the perfect sailing conditions (most days!)
Over all placing – 24th in the World!!
