24th March 2011 – Overnighter on South Pacific II
To celebrate Peter and his father Ron’s birthday, Peter rounded up his old fishing mates for an overnighter on his father’s boat South Pacific II.
With the wind forecast to drop out, they decided to anchor up offshore for the night on the shallow grounds off Cape Moreton. Just on dusk the action fired up with Jonathon O’Brien the standout angler taking Grasseys, Cod, Snapper and even a Barracuda to name a few. When the bite slowed up they all settled down to a magnificent roast prepared by meat aficionardo Bruce Baker in the saloon.
The morning bite started pre-dawn and shut down again as soon as the sun was up but everyone got a feed together of Squire and even a couple of Pearlies came aboard.
