It was only a month or so ago, during the transition of seasons, that we were complaining about the lack of fish both offshore and in the bay. Well things have improved as I keep receiving good reports from the Gold Coast to Mooloolaba. Even I managed to sneak out for a solo run in Salt Shaker III last Friday and got a feed early of Amberjack, Squire and Spangled Emperor. Over the last few days a couple of Professional Boat Care clients have had their boats down at the Gold Coast with some mates and have been having some great fishing. The new Grady White 36′ has been christened with some nice fish as highlighted in the shots below (click to enlarge).
The current weather report is looking very fishable, particularly into the afternoon and evening Sunday. I would suggest getting some live bait on the way and looking around Shallow Tempest for some activity into the dusk bite. There has been some solid Jew taken in this area also with my old man’s crew having a session on them a couple of weeks ago. If you feel like some surface action, I hear Flat Rock and The Sevens area are producing some Yellowfin and even a late season Wahoo. Might be worth checking the wave buoy also for some Dolphin Fish.
Good fishing if you can get out there this weekend!
