The Professional Boat Care maintained ‘Liberty’, reported a sensational day Blue Marlin fishing on the continental shelf grounds, east of Moreton Island yesterday! They went 6 strikes, had 5 on and tagged and released 3 including a relatively rare Shortbill Spearfish.
These grounds are some 20NM east of Moreton Island and the water depths we find these Blue Marlin in, range from 180 metres to 1000+ metres when you venture over the edge of the shelf. Conditions yesterday were perfect, but when you’re fishing on a 54 Hatteras GT, its just a bonus!
