Professional Boat Care have been polishing, on average, a couple of boats a week now for almost 4 years. To say we have perfected our craft is a given, however, avoiding swirl marks is one of the great challengers to all polishers.
This is because every boat’s surface structure is different. Even two production boats from the same factory can have different gelcoat qualities, giving different results. Add to this, all the different paint types that many new boats are finished in and you can start to get a picture of the challenges facing professional polishers.
At Professional Boat Care we are judged everyday on our work so achieving the best results has always been what drives us.
One of our most recent jobs was polishing the magnificent Assegai 44 ‘Megumi’. She is owned and operated by Brisbane Sportfishing Adventure Club and captained by Ken Brown, or ‘Brownie’ as he is better known from his Channel Seven days.
Megumi is painted in Glasurit. This paint is used on Mercedes so we used the same methods, products and tools as the boys in the panel shops and the results are stunning – not a swirl mark in sight!
The process takes longer, and therefore slightly more expensive than the traditional rotary buffing method, but for those demanding the best job possible – give us a call to learn more!! (Scroll down and click on the images below to admire the results)
