Tailor were on for the 25th Anniversary of our annual Moreton trip!

MHW 2012 was another great 4 days of fishing the eastern beach. Given it was our Silver Anniversary year everyone was hoping for a fairytale score card, and most of us weren’t dissappointed. Mornings and dusk produced some good numbers of Tailor and the warm NW winds and low swell made for comfortable surf fishing conditions.

For 25 years now ,this core group of mates has been making a annual expedition to Moreton Island for a weeks beach fishing. These days we tend to catch more fish compared to 25 years ago. Might be something to do with us all slowing down a little!

Magnificent NW weather for the Eastern Beach of Moreton.

Spinning for Tailor that were feeding in casting range!

The netters were there cleaning out the gutters. One can only wonder at this practice, especially when they run a net around a school of Dart - pet food possibly?
Rosco finally breaks the hoodo securing a few fish day two.
Bakes rising from the flames!
Early morning Tailor for Breakky
Stargazers are suprisingly good eating - almost like Lobster!
It was sad to see such a massive amount of flotsom and jetsom on the eastern beach. The majority of the plastic was identifiable as originating from Asia. As it was with pumistone and coconuts it has certianly travelled from a tropical region.
Harro and me ready for the late afternoon bite.
